Mission
It is the mission of the Piedmont Regional Jail to provide appropriate supervision of persons incarcerated in the jail, to meet their basic needs and when possible, make available programs that will promote a positive and healthy climate. Also to meet the standards established by the Virginia Board of Corrections and the American Correctional Association Standards and to assist law enforcement agencies (state, federal, and local) whenever applicable.
The Superintendent meets monthly with the Jail Board to discuss any updates, revisions or amendments to the Standard Operating Procedures. The Superintendent will also meet with the courts of all participating jurisdictions to inform them of the programs available at this facility.
